OUr 2022 musical

The pandemic has shown us that there are still unresolved racial tensions in our country and the Agape Theater Company will directly address these challenges in our production of West Side Story.

A modern re-telling of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, this production takes place in New York in the 1950s. Instead of two warring families in Renaissance Italy, this moving story focuses on the tension between a Caucasian gang and the Puerto Rican gang in the inner-city.  The Shark performers are cast to reflect the diversity of the Puerto Rican community. We seek to raise awareness and build bridges through this breath taking musical theater experience.

Rarely tackled by amateurs theater companies because the production is so difficult, Agape Theater Company rises to the challenge with a phenomenal cast travelling as far as Martinsville, Avon, and Ball State University in Muncie. These extraordinary performers will touch your heart deeply.

Film Director Steven Spielberg said that West Side Story is a production that needs to be seen by each generation. Don't miss the opportunity to see this extraordinary production at budget-friendly prices. Tickets are only $5 Children (for ages 11 and under) and $10 for Adults so whole families can have a beautiful theater experience together.

This production in intended for mature youth and adults.  The plot includes gang violence, a simulated gun shot, and the attempted assault of a young woman.  The Production Staff has worked to insure that the performance is family-friendly, but the plot addresses serious issues.
