Performers 13 years old - college age are invited to audition for this hilarious 60-minute, family-friendly musical version of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." Agape Theater Company has a wavier from TRW which allows college-aged students to perform in this production.
The Festival cutting has all the laughs of "Spamalot" but none of the "naughty bits," featuring Arthur ("I'm Arthur, King of the Britons"); Patsy (who follows his King banging coconuts); his Knights ("We're Knights of the Round Table"); the Lady of the Lake ("Find Your Grail"); and a hilarious ensemble including "I'm Not Yet Dead" Fred, the Knights who say Ni, and Brother Maynard who wields the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.
We anticipate casting 25 performers.
General Auditions will be on Monday, May 20 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm (performers sign up for a one-hour long slot).
Call Backs which are closed and by invitation only are on Tuesday, May 21.
Rehearsals are Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6:00 - 9:00pm beginning on May 28 thru mid-August. "Spamalot" rehearses two week nights with no weekend rehearsals. We will not rehearse the first week of July.
Performances will be the Indy Fringe Festival (August 15 - 25) at the District Theater in Indianapolis. Agape will learn the specific performance dates once the Festival schedule has been finalized.
Performers under age 18 who are cast will pay $200 tuition to cover 40+ hours of instruction in singing, dancing, and acting. Tuition also to helps to pay for the many expenses of costumes, scenery and royalties.
The fee can be paid in two installments, with the first half of the tuition due at the Read Thru on May 14. The second installment is due on June 11.
No performer who is cast in the show will be turned away because of their inability to pay tuition. Agape works with performers to gain the scholarship aid necessary for them to participate.
College age students must secure Donors and/or Sponsors for the production if they are unable to pay the tuition.

"From the moment my daughter arrived she was greeted with nothing but kindness and compassion. Everyone worked together seamlessly. Using directors at the final high school and beginning college level is ingenious. Not only does it help prepare the older students. . . it also provides amazing motivation and mentorship for middle school kids or kids like mine who are just entering high school. Thank you Agape! " (from an anonymous survey)
Agape Theater Company provided, "a positive and safe atmosphere where kids could be themselves and make friends, great experience working with multiple directors/staff who could be seen as role models also." (from an anonymous survey)

Much better than Beef and Board's production. Thank you." Jan Durham
